Here are the Top 50 La. HS girls in every distance event after the first two weeks of the 2023 season. Louise McGehee's Kali Magana owns the fastest 800m time with a 2:18.48. A week after running that time, Magana went to New York where she competed in the Nike Indoor Championships. Magana ran a 2:14 to win the emerging elite 800m. The time puts her at No. 2 all-time in the state of Louisiana.
As fast as Houma Christian's Emma Bourg has been running all year, she looks to be at the top of her game at this point in her final semester of high school competition. The Warrior is ranked No. 2 in the 800m (2:18.63), No. 3 in the 1600m (5:07.53) and No. 1 in the 3200m (11:07.47).
Bourg's time in the mile came in meets where she was running all alone. That is scheduled to change on Friday in Thibodaux when Bourg and Mt. Carmel's Catalina Reichard race in the girls 1600m at the Cardinal Relays.
