The race of the year in the boys' 1600m was the LSU Last Chance Qualifier. Four of the top five performances were run by the first four finishers in that race, which was won by Ruston's Bryar Madden (4:13.91), but it was Zachary's Rhen Langley who ran fieldhouse composite record time of 4:13.91 at the LSU High School Qualifier which tops the rankings of the Top 200 1600m runners in Louisiana.
Two Catholic Bears were in the mix in the Last Chance 1600m. Juniors David Lemann and Matthew Maynard made Madden earn it. Lemann finished second with a season best 4:28.62. Maynard finished fourth with 4:29.08.
Between the Bears was St. Amant senior Peyton Bourgeois with a 4:28.76.
Two sophomores made the top ten list, with both running their fastest time of the season at the LHSAA Division II State Indoor Meet. Parkview Baptist's Aiden Monistere (4:30.13) edged out Calvary's Jackson Burney (4:30.32).
