BRODERICK DAVIS (SCOTLANDVILLE) - The junior Hornet was on another level at the 2023 LHSAA State Indoor Championships. Davis had a big personal record of 24-0.5 in the long jump. That was an improvement of over a foot. He went on to defeat his arch rival, John Curtis' Justin Horne, and remove his name from the record books. His 7.84 lowers the mark of 7.90 set by Horne in the first meet of the year. 

LANDON SPEARS (WEST MONROE) - After being one of the only two distnace runners not wearing a Jesuit uniform in the top ten of the LHSAA Division I State Cross Country Championships, Spears keeps the momentum going with a podium appearance at the LHSAA State Indoor Championships. Spears finished third in the Division I 3200m with a 9:34.95.

JONATHAN WOODS (ST. THOMAS MORE)- Finished second in the Division I boys' pole vault on fewer misses. His best vault of the day was 14-7.25. Woods is one of only three vaulters in the state who has cleared 15-0 during the '23 indoor season. 

AIDEN MONISTERE (PARKVIEW BAPTIST)- The sophomore won his first state championship on Saturday in the Division II boys' 1600. Monistere ran a personal record 4:30.13. There are only six other runners in the state who have run faster over that distance. Monistere has the fastest 1600m time in the state among all sophomores. 

GERMAIN SMITH-MATA (WARREN EASTON)- Smith-Mata was almost speechless after winning the Division I boys' 60m with a fieldhouse composite record 6.76. After having to sit out last season due to LHSAA transfer rules, Smith-Mata has made the most of his return during the '23 indoor season. Smith-Mata's time is ranked No. 17 in the nation. There is only one junior in America who has run faster during the '23 indoor season.

KADEN LEWIS (THOMAS JEFFERSON)- Lewis won the Division I 60m with a time of 6.86. It's been a long road of recovery for Lewis, who suffered a hamstring injury at the finish line of the LHSAA State Indoor Meet in 2021. The injury was so severe that it almost caused Lewis to leave the sport. 

TRISTAN GOODLY (WESTLAKE)- All is well that ends well for one of the best horizontal jumpers in the nation. Goodly successfully defended his long jump and triple jump titles at the LHSAA State Indoor Meet on Saturday. He won the Division II long jump with a leap of 22-10. Goodly went 46-6.25 in the triple jump. 

NICK DAVIS (MANSFIELD) -Davis won the Division II boys' 400m with a time of 49.32 to help lead Mansfield to their first LHSAA State Indoor Championship in school history. It's the program second consecutive after they won their first state championship in 35 years at the LHSAA State Outdoor ChampionshipsDavis is the second Wolverine in school history to win an individual championship after his teammate, Jaden Youngblood , won the 60m hurdles last year as a freshman.
