VOTE: MileSplit LA Boys' Performer of the Week!


Here are the finalists for MileSplit LA Boys' Performer of the Week. The poll will close Saturday at 9pm. The winner of the poll will move to compete in the Athlete of the Month poll.

CAMREN HARDY(EDNA KARR) - Won the 400-barely- over John Curtis' King Taylor with a 49.38. A win is a win. 

LOUIS RUDGE (CATHOLIC) - Made his hurdle debut at the LSU Last Chance Qualifier and came away with a win after running a 8.28. His time ranks No. 4 in Louisiana and No. 3 in Divison I. 

HERMAN BATISTE (EAST FELICIANA) - Our MileSplit LA Future Star from last week, won the high jump at the LSU Last Chance Qualifier. His 6-6.25 leads the state and is ranked No. 4 nationally among all sophomores. 

KANE HILL (MANDEVILLE)- Hill won the triple jump over Scotlandville's Broderick Davis at the LSU Last Chance Qualifier. Hill jumped 45-5. Hill's mark ranks No. 4 in Louisiana and is ranked No. 19 among all juniors in the nation. 

MEHKI SMITH (WOODLAWN) -Won the LSU Last Chance Qualifier with a throw of 50-0. Is the No. 1 shot putter in the state with a season best of 52-10.25. 

 KING TAYLOR (JOHN CURTIS)- Ran a 49.38 and almost came away with a win at the LSU Last Chance Qualifier. He was edged out by Edna Karr's Camren Hardy. Taylor has the fastest time in the state with a 49.10, but that was on a banked track. The junior will have the opportunity to prove he is the best 400m runner in the state at the LHSAA State Indoor Meet.
