How did these talented girls get on this ballot? Easy. It was the MileSplit LA audience who helped the finish either first or second in our weekly MileSplit LA Girls' Performer of the Week poll. Who will decide who wins the title MileSplit LA Girls' Athlete of the Month? Again, YOU, the MileSplit LA audience will decide. The winner of this poll will move on to participate in the MileSplit LA Girls' Athlete of the Year, which will be voted on this summer.


HANNAH BOULLION (ST. LOUIS CATHOLIC)- The sophmore sensation, who has run the fastest flat track 400m of any sophomore in the nation, was the Week No. 1 winner (44% of the vote)of our MileSplit LA Girls' Peformer of the Week poll. She made the poll after an impressive 58.37 second place performance at the LSU High School Classic.  Since then, she has continued to drop time in every meet she has competed. Yesterday, she ran a 56.99 at the McNeese High School Indoor No. II.

SADE GRAY (SCOTLANDVILLE)- The junior Lady Hornet (far right) was the runner-up in our Week No. 1 MileSplit LA Girls' Performer of the Week poll. She had 35% of the vote in the poll. Gray made the poll after her 7.73 fourth place finish at the LSU High School Classic. It was the highest finish by a Louisiana female sprinter. Gray is ranked No. 3 in both the 60m rankings (7.69) and 55m rankings (7.31). As special as she has been in her individual events, Gray has been equally impressive in her role on the Scotlandville 4x200 and 4x400. The latter is ranked No. 8 in the nation with a best of 1:40.51 at the McNeese High School Indoor No. 1. 

DESTINY HOOPER (LAFAYETTE)- She was our Week No. 2 MileSplit LA Girls' Performer of the Week winner with 47% of the vote. The 47% is the largest percentage of any winner during the month of January. The Lafayette junior made the ballot with her win in the girls high jump (5-4) the McNeese High School Indoor No. 1 Meet. She is currently ranked No. 2 in Louisiana, behind Episcopal's Alana Simon (5-5). She is also ranked No. 18 in the nation among juniors. 

A'SHYRIA BURNS (MENARD)- Burns was runner-up in the Week No. 2 MileSplit LA Girls' Performer of the Week poll. In that poll, she received 24% of the vote. Burns made the ballot in Week No. 2 after an impressive performance at the McNeese High School Indoor No. I Meet. In that meet, she won the long jump (17-3.5) finished second in the triple jump (35-9), and finished fourth in the 55m (7.51). 

KALI MAGANA (LOUISE MCGEHEE)- Magana has run in club meets with the New Orleans Metro Stars while she sits out due to LHSAA transfer rules. Her times--especially in the 400m--have been remarkable. She is currently ranked No. 1 in Louisisana after her 55.92 at the Elite Scholastic Meet. We will will get to see her against Louisiana competition on a flat track this Saturday at the LSU Last Chance Qualifier. Magana was our MileSplit Girls' Peformer of the Week No. 3 winner, receiving 45% of the vote.

LONDON PARKER (JOHN CURTIS)- Parker was the Week No. 3 runner up in the MileSplit LA Girls' Performer of the Week poll. She received 20% of the vote. Parker made the ballot by an impressive showing at the LSU High School Qualifier, where she finished second in both the 400m (58.65) and 800m (2:25.24).
