St. Joseph's Academy have won the last seven LHSAA state cross country championships. And eight of the last nine. Looking at the Top 10 list of the fastest junior girls in the state of Louisiana, it doesn't appear anything will change as the calendar rolls to 2023.
Of course, anything can happen in a year. The Stickers got to the top with hard work, and the recipe for success doesn't change. Leading SJA at the top of the junior class is Elise Brown (No.1, 17:49) and Hannah Vaughan (No. 2, 17:53), the 2022 LHSAA Division I State Champion.
Just outside of the Top 10, Coach Mark LaHaye has Madison Mannino and Grace Rennhoff, who was injured most of the 2022 season.
SJA is the only school with multiple runners in the top 10.
C.E. Byrd's Lady Jackets finished fourth at the LHSAA Division I state championships. It's the highest finish in school history for head coach Juan Plaza's team.
