LHSAA XC State Meet Preview: Girls

DIVISION III

This division looks to be set in its ways. The no-brainer for the number one team in Division III would be Episcopal. The next clear-cut team finishers would be E.D. White

It's hard to imagine a situation where Episcopal could lose this race. The front-pack of Lucy Cramer, Molly Cramer, and Anna Kurz is hard to beat. These three girls could very well sweep the podium and they are all in MIDDLE SCHOOL! What would secure this team victory even more so would be an appearance of Lauren Bradford, who has only raced two times earlier in the season. Even with the absence of Bradford, I believe that the Knights would still be able to snag the victory.

E.D. White would be a safe bet for second place. The Cardinals could possibly place six runners within the top 20, but surprisingly that might be enough to nab the state title. We haven't seen a lot of consistency from this team, so it will be a bit difficult to predict what kind of team will toe the line on Monday.

Some individuals to look out for in this race would be Maggie Smith and Ava Hartman of Newman, Brynlie Monistere of Parkview Baptist, and Kirlan-Loryn Williams of Lake Charles College Prep. The Newman duo are two very capable runners that should not be underestimated. Though Ava Hartman has only competed in one race this season, she could still make an appearance at the state meet. Monistere has been a dominant middle school force that has greatly impacted her team. She might set herself up for a successful future if she claims an All-State position this Monday. Williams is the Region 1 champion and has had few opportunities to race against the rest of this Division III field. It will be interesting to see what she will be able to pull off.
