POLL: Which Team Will Win the '22 D-II Gilrs' State Title?

ACADEMY OF SACRED HEART'S LEAH VARISCO TALKS ABOUT HER D-II REGION 3 TITLE

The more things change, the more they stay the same. For instance, Louisiana high school cross country. This is the first year the LHSAA has moved from Class championships to divisions. What hasn't changed is the fact that Vandebilt Catholic, who won the Class 4A title a year ago, is still loaded going into Monday's 2022 LHSAA Division II State Cross Country Championships.
This year, the Terriers have six runners ranked in the top 20 of fastest times in Division II. That is similiar to last year's state championship, when all of Vandebilt Catholic's scoring runners finished in the top 18.
Do any of the other girls' teams in Division II even have a chance? Truthfully, no. But if you like longshots...start with Academy of Sacred Heart (NO), led by freshman Leah Varisco. St. Thomas More, Teurlings Catholic, West Feliciana, and St. Scholastica are all very talented teams.
Just not talented enough to keep Vandebilt Catholic from adding another state championship trophy to the Terrier trophy case in Houma, Louisiana.
Do you agree? Vote for the team you think will win state on Monday. The poll will close on Sunday at 8pm.
