  The trip that Jesuit distance group took to North Texas turned out to be quite a weekend, and it produced the three fastest 3200m times turned in by Louisiana high school distance runners this season. Sophomore Michael Vocke, who went on to defend his Class 5A LHSAA State Outdoor 1600m title, led the hit parade for the Blue Jays, running a 9:06.11.

     Byrd's Trent Wells, who ran a 23 second PR in the 3200m (9:17.20) to beat defending champion Jack DesRoches at the LHSAA state outdoor meet, is No. 5 while DesRoches is No. 2 with a time of 9:07.37. 

     Three in the top 10 used the momentum gained from an active indoor campaign and cool weather during the first week of the outdoor season to run their fastest time at the West Feliciana Invitational, as coaches and athletes from multiple schools collaborated to produce and elite race, one that will go do down as the fastest in history.
