OUACHITA'S JEREMY NELSON JUMPS TO NO.1 OUTDOORS IN USA!

Here are the top five performances in every event after week No. 1 of the La. HS outdoor season. This group is led by Ouachita's Jeremy Nelson and Jesuit's Jack Larriviere, who turned in the nation's best performances in their specialty. Nelson used motivation from a disappointing outcome at the LHSAA State Indoor Meet and a favorable wind to get out to a jump of 50-3.5 in the triple jump at the D&H Relays on the campus of ULM. Larriviere hit the correct position in the javelin and launched a throw of 195-0 to win the Patrick Ruth Memorial Relays.

And What about the elite 3200 race at the West Feliciana Invitational? Not sure any regular season 3200 race in the history of Louisiana track and field has seen a star-studded cast like this one. The fifth place finisher, Jesuit's Patrick Dowd, had the fifth fastest time in the state of Louisiana during Week No. 1.
