Scotlandville's Makeriah Harris transitioned from an outstanding indoor season to open her outdoor campaign with a couple of MileSplit ELITE performances at the Carver Classic at Joe Brown Park. Harris won the 100 hurdles (14.54) and 300 hurdles (43.16). She also ran a leg on the Lady Hornets 800 relay (1:41.73)
St. Joseph's Ava Riche won three events in Louisiana's most competitive meet during the first week of the outdoor season. Riche won the long jump (18-2.5), triple jump (37-10.75), and pole vault (12-9).
St. Fredrick's Alyssa Dismuke scored 20 of her team's 66 points at the D&H Relays on the campus of ULM. Dismuke won the shot put with a throw of 37-10. She returned in the discus where got off a toss of 110-0.
Parkway's Jillian Walton's name will now go on the record wall at her school. She broke Parkway's 200 meter record with a 25.45 at the Shamocus Patton Benton Tiger Relays. She follows in her older brother's footsteps. He holds the Parkway record in the same event. The gold medal was Walton's fourth on the day. She also won the 100 (12.71) and ran a leg on both winning sprint relays for the Lady Panthers.
Episcopal of Acadiana's Ayden Brown won the 400 (1:01.25) and 800 (2:29.32) at the Charles Lacon Invite.
Barbe's Ariel Williams high jumped 5-6 at the DeRidder Dragon Relays to earn a spot on the ballot.
John Curti's Keva Thomas won both the shot put (30-9) and discus (94-5) at the Patrick Ruth Memorial Relays.
Destrehan's Anaya Kimble got off a monster effort of 39-2 in the shot put at the Ponchatoula Invite.
Last, but certainly not least, the LHSAA State Indoor Champion in the shot put, Zachary's Jaydan Jackson, won both the shot put (40-2.5) and discus (125-6) at the West Feliciana Invitational.
