Louisiana Indoor Track is Back!

A new year comes and so does the indoor track season. We have already seen some results from Louisiana from the past few weeks at various locations from the surrounding states, and we will continue to see more impressive performances as the weeks progress.

The most eye-catching performers from December were Ruston's Bryanna Craig and Central Lafourche's Ke'yona Gabriel. These two put up performances that would be some of the most competitive marks of the previous indoor season. They are off to a tremendous start to their seasons and the official start of the season has yet to begin.

Bryanna Craig:

800m - 2:24

60m Hurdles - 9.03

High Jump - 5-8

Long Jump - 18-4.25

Ke'yona Gabriel:

Long Jump - 17-4.25

Triple Jump - 39-1.25

An interesting fact about Bryanna Craig is that she recently moved to Louisiana from Texas where she was the 5A state champion in the long jump, 2nd in the 100m hurdles, and 5th in the high jump. Additionally, she competed at The Outdoor Nationals where she competed in the heptathlon and finished second behind Louisiana's Ariel Pedigo. Pedigo now competes at the University of Oklahoma

Keep up with the upcoming schedule for local Louisiana meets. Athletes will have one month to garner a qualifying mark for the state meet and it must be recorded at a local Louisiana qualifying meet.
