JUMPS


CLAYTON SIMMS

Clayton Simms of Live Oak has been leading not only the state but the nation in the pole vault. Simms's best vault came from the indoor season 17-4.75 which was a #1 mark in the nation. He continues to compete this season and has flown to 17-2.75 this outdoor season. Currently, Simms still stands at the #1 mark in the nation. Over the course of his jumping career, Clayton has accumulated four individual state titles. Simms will continue his track and field career at the University of Kansas.


ANDREW LEWIS

Andrew Lewis of Cecilia is one of the state's best long and high jumpers. His better performance out of these two events resides in the long jump. Lewis is currently ranked #18 in the nation in the long jump with his leap of 24-1.5. On top of an already stellar performance, Lewis jumps an impressive 6-5.5 in the high jump. Lewis is currently not committed to a university.


W'JUANTERAUS RODRIQUE

W'Juanteraus Rodrique of St. Amant is a seasoned long and triple jumper that has proven himself a true talent in each event. He is currently ranked in the top 45 in the nation for both events. Rodrique garners a long jump best of 23-7.75 and he follows it up with an equally impressive triple jump mark of 47-5. It is with no doubt that Rodrique is a national talent in both of these events. Rodrique has not committed to a university to compete in track and field.


TREY BOUCHER

Trey Boucher of Parkview Baptist is another great pole vault talent. He holds the #15 mark in the nation in the event which stands at 16-2. He compliments this performance with a long jump of 20-8.25. Before competing at the 2021 outdoor track and field championships, Boucher holds two individual state titles to his name. Boucher is also not committed to compete for a university in track and field.


KEVON HAMILTON

Kevon Hamilton of Scotlandville performs well not only in the jumps but the hurdles as well. Hamilton's strength comes from the triple jump. His personal best in this event is 48-1 which ranks him at #17 in the nation. Hamilton also competes in the long jump and has a personal best of 21-10.75. In addition to jumps, Hamilton is also talented in the 300m hurdles as he has run a 39.84 in order to qualify for the state meet. He has not committed to any university to compete in track and field.
