Combs and Hemed Claim Top Two Spots in Decthlon at Angelo State

SAN ANGELO, Texas – Isaac Combs won the decathlon and Ruslan Hemed came in second as the ULM track & field team had another solid showing at the David Noble Multi Events meet on Wednesday. Combs captured first place with 7031 points while Hemed came in second with 6767 points. After qualifying for NCAA Regionals in the long jump yesterday, Combs finished strong with a winning time of 15.21 seconds in the 110m hurdles. Hemed also finished on a high note as he moved up from his third place standing at the end of Tuesday’s competition. He finished second to Combs in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.59 seconds. The two Warhawks also finished tied for second in the pole vault as each cleared a height of 13-07.00 feet. Aleesha Mullen finished in 10th place in the heptathlon with her score of 4129, while fellow Warhawk Natasha Washington finished 11th with a score of 4004. ULM will be back in action this weekend as it travels to Oxford, Miss., for the Ole Miss Invitational on Saturday.
