Cajuns Run Well in Bayou Bengal

Baton Rouge, La. – Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns track and field team competed in the Bayou Bengal Friday night at LSU. The Cajuns had 12 top ten finishes in the final meet before next week’s conference meet. UL’s Paula Parker highlighted the Cajuns performances with her second place finish in the one mile run.

 

UL got top ten finishers came from 11 different athletes and one relay team. Freshman Antwain Keyes had another good performance in the High Jump finishing third with a jump of 6.25 meters. Chris Roy finished fourth in pole vault with a height of 4.95 meters. Tyler Guidry also finished fourth in his event, the shot put with a distance of 14.94 meters.

 

Other notable performers were Jasmine Manuel (fifth - women’s triple jump, 11.54m), Kenneth Bellard (fifth – men’s triple jump, 14.13m), Callie Picou (sixth – women’s 3000m run, 11:11.48), Derrick Dean (seventh – men’s shot put, 12.99m), Louis Stevens (seventh - men’s 60m hurdles, 8.31 seconds), womens 4x400 relay (seventh – 4:00.95), Ashley Faulk (tenth – women’s 3000m run, 11:43.75), Jordan Folse (tenth – men’s weight throw, 13.76m).
