Tulane Takes Sixth in 4x400 as Iowa State Classic Wraps

AMES, Iowa - Tulane indoor track & field wrapped the Iowa State Classic Saturday with two top 10 finishes in the 60-meter dash, and a sixth place finish in the 4x400 meter relay. Junior Olivia Kizzee places seventh in the 60-meter final, and ran the third leg of the 4x400.
Kizzee posted a 7.72 in the 60-meter premlins, while freshman Kasey Rodgers also advanced with a 7.65, the fifth best prelim time. In the final, Rodgers improved to 6.61, placing ninth, while Kizzee upped her mark to 7.60 to finish seventh.
In the one-mile run, non-seeded, freshman Johanna Gretschel came in seven seconds back of the leader in 5:13, placing 13th in the finals. Sophomore Rebecca Coady was 18th, turning in a time of 5:15.
In the 4x400, the Green Wave posted a 3:45 time, as senior Shaina Pelham led off, followed by sophomore Aishia Brooks. After Kizzee ran the third leg, senior Vanessa Kienast brought it home and the Wave placed sixth.
On Friday, senior Keriann Langley finished 12th in the women's 3000-meter, while sophomore Rebecca Coady was 32nd in 10:31. In the 5,000-meter, Julia Whitrock, a redshirt freshman who transferred from Georgia, placed 16th in 18:09. Kizzee posted a 25:53 in the 200-meter dash, placing 50th in a field of 131 entrants.
Tulane will be in action next at the Conference USA championship on February 27-28 in Houston, Texas.
