RUSTON -- The inclement weather held off Saturday morning at Lincoln Parish Park and allowed head coach Gary Stanley's Bulldogs to sweep the triple dual meet thanks in part to a first place finish by senior Kinsey Dinnel.
"This was a good opener for our team," Stanley said. "We put up a good effort on this slow course."
The Bulldogs topped the triple dualing with wins of 15-40 over Centenary, 20-35 over Grambling State and 22-33 over UAPB.
Dinnel finished with the top overall time at 20 minutes, 30 seconds, while senior Zac Schuler took third overall at 20:51. Senior Nate Davis finished sixth overall at 21:54, while sophomore David Monroe and freshman Jack Ramstad finished eighth and ninth, respectively, with times of 22:02 and 22:03.
Sophomores Chico Cortez and Kyle Davis rounded out Tech's finishers at 22:12 and 22:18 for eleventh and twelfth places.
On the women's side, the Techsters took a win over Louisiana College 19-36, while losing 40-15 to Centenary and 39-16 to Grambling. Sophomore Morgan Owen was Tech's highest finisher at 18:21.
Both of Tech's cross country teams will return to action Saturday, Sept. 20, for a run at Arkansas-Little Rock.
