FAYETTEVILLE, AR - McNeese State's Freddie Hannie finished 25th in the hammer throw during the NCAA mid-east regional track and field meet on Saturday in Fayetteville, AR.

The Cowboy senior posted a 184-3 mark, well under his school record of 193-3. He fouled on his first two throws and got the mark on his third and final effort.

Cory Martin of Auburn won the event with a 239-10 throw. LSU's Raban Fox was eighth at 209-0. Only the top five finishers in the event earned a berth in the NCAA national championship meet.

John Jamail, Carlese Franklin, Ben Chretien and Christi McRae had participated in the meet on Friday but did not earn a berth in the finals.

The only meet now left for McNeese track athletes this season is the national junior championship the middle of June for which Chretien, Jacob Domingue and Johnathan Koenck have qualified.
