The Alexandria Senior High Trojans are up to their old tricks, again. Wednesday evening they made their way to West Monroe High School where they took home both the boys and girls championship trophies.
ASH scored 125 points in the boys division, 25 points more than runner-up Ruston. In the girls division, the Trojans scored 149. The Ruston girls were second with 120 points.
It was the usual suspects leading the way for ASH. On the girls' side it was senior Noelle Williams (22 points) and sophomore Ja'nya Gray (20.5) points. Demarion Robinson (20 points)and Carter Rivet (20 points) led the boys team to victory.
Williams won the long jump (18-7) and the triple jump (37-7.5). Teammate Devan Williams (16-10.5) was the runner-up in the long jump.
Once again, the Lady Trojans showed their depth in the relays by winning both the 4x200m (1:38.56) and 4x400m (3:58). They finished second in the 4x100m (48.09) and third in the 4x800m (11.26).
Gray was on both the 4x100 and 4x200 teams. She also finished as the runner-up in both the 100m (11.98) and 200m (24.50).
Ouachita junior Gabriella Glover won both the 100m (11.89) and her teammate, Micayla Harris won the 200m (24.49). Glover and Harris led the Lions to a win in the 4x100m (47.45). It was the fastest time of the season for Ouachita, who defeated the No.1 ranked 4x100 in Louisiana. Alexandria leads Louisiana with a 47.39 at the Don Millen Bearkat Relays.
Rivet's undefeated streak continued on Wednesday as he won the shot put with a throw of 60-0 and also won the discus by over 33 feet with a throw of 183-6.
While Rivet took care of business in the throwing events for the Trojans, Robinson had the hurdles on lock down. The junior won the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.55. He returned later in the meet to win the 300m hurdles 40.46.
The only athlete in the boys division to score more points than Rivet and Robinson was Ouachita's Macario Dade, who won the 100m (10.71) and 200m (22.27). Dade also ran a leg on Ouachita's fourth place 4x100m.
