BATON, ROUGE, La.-Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at the LSU Alumni Gold track meet on Saturday. Senior Casey Brown earned a career-best time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. In women’s action, Brown placed second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with her time of 11:35.45. The time marked a career-best for the senior. Taryn Simmons placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles after she recorded a time of 1:01.41. Suzanne Boudreaux captured a 10th place finish in the 5,000-meter run with her time of 18:53.27. Kioloni Readeaux picked up a 12th place finish in the long jump with her mark of 18 feet, 10 1/2 inches. In men’s competition, DJ Hebert finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:49.55. Chis Roy placed fourth in the pole vault with his mark of 16 feet, 1 3/4 inches. Joby Gisclair placed seventh in the 5,000-meter run with his time of 16:09.34. Casey Comeaux finished 10th in the javelin throw with a mark of 179 feet. Roderick Houston finished 12th in the 200-meter dash after posting a time of 21.57 seconds. Houston also placed 24th out of 55 runners in the 100-meter dash. Houston posted a time of 10.82 seconds in the event. Kenneth Bellard finished ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 47 feet, 10 inches. Ben Leonards placed 11th in the hammer throw with his mark of 142 feet, 10 inches. Leonards also captured a 12th place finish in the shot put, followed by Jordan Folse who placed 13th. The Cajuns will compete at the Ty Terrell Relays in Beaumont, Texas on Thursday, April 24. |
