NSU finishes busy four days at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas -- An eighth-place finish in the men's 4x200 meter relay Saturday wrapped up Northwestern State's four days of action in the 81st Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays track and field meet.

 The Demons' foursome of sophomore Charles Jackson, sophomore Charles Green, senior Nathan Brown and freshman Jamie Emery clocked a 1:25.63 time to trail Baylor (1:22.02), TCU, Kentucky, Houston, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Southland Conference rival Stephen F. Austin in the event, while outpacing schools such as Texas Southern, New Mexico, SLC rival Lamar and Jackson State.

Late Friday night, the NSU sprint medley team ran 10th in 3:29.09 as Texas-El Paso  won in 3:17.84. Also for the Demons, Samuel Norton threw 192-1 for 12th place in the B division of the men's javelin Friday night. Mike Cast of Texas Tech won with a 216-10 throw, seven feet past Norton's personal best.

The Demons and Lady Demons compete at home next Saturday in the Northwestern Invitational.
