March 15, 2008
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Tulane University senior All-American Gloria Asumnu finished seventh in the finals of 60-meter dash, running 7.29 seconds Saturday at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
Asumnu completes her memorable collegiate career, having been named an All-American three times, and holding a total of six school records and one Conference USA record. She also won eight conference championships in both the Indoor and Outdoor venues, and is the only student-athlete in C-USA history to win four conference championships in a single event - the Indoor 60m. She was also named Performer of the Meet at the C-USA Indoor Championships in both 2007 and 2008. Asumnu will now move on to the U.S. Olympic Trials held in Eugene, Ore., in June.
The Green Wave also competed in their first outdoor meet of the season Saturday at the Southern Miss Invitational. Complete results and a recap will be posted as soon as they become available.
