NEW ORLEANS - Senior sprinter Gloria Asumnu was named an All-American in the indoor 60-meter dash, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Monday.

Asumnu received the honor, the fourth of her career, after finishing seventh in the finals of the 60m with a time of 7.29 seconds at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark. She was named an All-America in the 60m in 2007, as well as the outdoor 100m and the 200m in 2007.

Asumnu completes her impressive collegiate career, having been named an All-American four times, and holding a total of six school records - Indoor 55m, 60m, 200m and Outdoor 100m, 200m and 4x100 relay - and one Conference USA record - Indoor 60m. She also won eight conference championships in both the Indoor and Outdoor venues, and is the only student-athlete in C-USA history to win four conference championships in a single event - the Indoor 60m. She was named Performer of the Meet at the C-USA Indoor Championships in both 2007 and 2008. Asumnu will now move on to the U.S. Olympic Trials held in Eugene, Ore., June 27 - July 6.
