Can't Miss Races of Day Two: Eric Coston vs. Devyn Keith - Boys 5A

Eric Coston and Devyn Keith will be lining up against one another for the last time in their high school cross-country careers tomorrow. Devyn will be graduating this spring and will be moving on to run for Tulane University, where he recently signed a scholarship.  Eric, a junior, will be returning for one more season in 2016.

The question is, will Devyn win his first ever 5A title (John Curtis is running up in 5A, despite being a class 3A school), or will Eric, much like he did in the state meet in 2013 as a freshman, dethrone the king?  In 2013 it was a guy name Zach Albright (an SPS teammate who now runs for Princeton), now it is Devyn Keith of John Curtis.

Devyn remained unbeaten by a Louisiana athlete in 2015 until the New Orleans Metro Championship, where he stumbled and eventually finished 5th. Eric would go on to win that race, running a time of 15:08.  Fast right?  For Eric that is debatable as this time happens to be his slowest 3 mile on the season, and the only time in which he didn't break the magic 15 minute mark.  Looking at his stats, he is staggeringly consistent and consistently fast.
