Southeastern Roadrunners capture eighteen medals at Junior Olympics

The Southeast Louisiana Roadrunners finished the 2007 Summer Track season on Saturday by earning a total of thirteen medals and posted a total of eighteen in the top ten positions at the 41st Annual National Junior Olympic Games held at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.  The top (8) finishers in each event of each age group earn a Junior Olympic medal.
         Distance runners Malia Cali and Tommy Brocato each brought home a pair of medals, while Multi-event specialist Meghan Becerra brought home a pair of medals also.  Cali posted the Roadrunners top finish of the meet on the last day of competition, she competed in the Intermediate girls division(15-16) and finished second in the 3000 meters(10:29.44) and was seventh in the 1500(4:50.33).  Brocato(11) finished fourth in the 3000(10:39.99), sixth in the 1500(5:05.25) and was seventeenth in the 800(2:30.53).  Becerra(9) posted a seventh place finish in the high jump(3-4), an eighth place in the shot put(19-6) and a tenth place finish in the triathlon(593 points). 
         Also Eaning Junior Olympic medals were Eric Coston(9) in the 1500 meters(5:23.22),  Craig Rock(11) was fifth in the 80 meter hurdles(13.87),  eleventh in the pentathlon(1,595 points) and 20th in the high jump(4-0).  Vincent Lombardo(13) placed seventh in the discus(118-1) and was tenth in the javelin(98-8).  Ryan Kluck(10) finished sixth in the 1500 meter racewalk(10:28.36), 29th in the high jump(3-4), 36th in the triathlon(288 points) and 38th in the 1500(7:02.08).  Mark Kluck(12) finished seventh in the 1500 meter racewalk(9:37.94), 26th in the Pentathlon(832 points), and 51st in the 1500(6:24.21).  Matt Marlbrough(17-18) earn a medal in the javelin(154-11).  Natalie Landry(13) finished eighth in the long jump(15-7.75), was 13th in the Pentathlon(2,213 points), 24th in the 200 meter hurdles(31.07) and 25th in the 100 meter hurdles(17.96).
    Also posting top ten finishes at the Junior Olympics, were:  Jenna Baker(15-16) javelin(98-1) and she was 34th in the shot put(27-4.50).  Maury Williams(15-16) finished ninth in the javelin(98-2) and placed 24th in the high jump(4-8).  Nathan Landry(10) placed ninth in the 1500 racewalk(11:18.05) and was 41st in the shot put(14-1).
