New Orleans Metro Championships Preview (Chris Kelley and Ryan Gallagher)

The girl’s race in City Park slated for 4:00 pm Wednesday, October 30 looks to be a good one. Top runners from a number of classes are expected to compete for the individual title. Individuals expected to compete in the front of the race include Celia Zaeringer from Patrick Taylor (#2 in Class B), Kathryn Fagan from Metairie Park Country Day (#3 in 1A), Haley Johnson from Newman (#1 in 2A) , Hannah Ivory from John Curtis (#3 in 3A), Aislinn Roberts from Lusher (#4 in 3A), Jeanee Romero from Edna Karr (#12 in 4A), Mia Meydrich from Dominican (#5 in 5A) and Isabella Hemb from Mount Carmel (#7 in 5A.)

Expect Dominican and Mount Carmel to duel it out for top honors with teams such as Newman, McGehee, and Country Day affecting the outcome of the race.

The boy’s competition should also provide excitement in the day’s second race at 4:30 pm. The team competition should be close as #3 John Curtis, #4 Brother Martin, #5 Jesuit, and #6 Archbishop Shaw all converge in pursuit of the Metro title.
