Louisiana athletes fare well at USATF National Junior Olympics

 

Greensboro, North Carolina: U.S. Express Track Club competed in the 2013 USATF National Junior Olympics from July 21st until July 28th.   With over 8000 athletes from across the country, US Express Track Club was able to accumulate 8 medals:

Jeremiah Mayes (Episcopal High Junior)                             5th place (17-18 yr) High Jump
Lance Williams (New Orleans Area)                                     7th place (11-12 yr) 100m

And their 4x400m Relay Team (13-14 Boys) consisting of Gerald Levy (Southern Lab 8th Grader), Nicholas Morgan (Southern Lab Freshman); Braylen Rembrant (Baton Rouge High Freshman); Heisman Woods (Brusly Area)

In addition to US Express success, a few other local athletes shined during the 2013 USATF Junior Olympics:

Ka’lynn Jupiter (LSU Signee) competed for Future Track Club was 6th in 400m Hurdles and 7th in 100m Hurdles

Makiah Brisco (Baton Rouge High Senior) competed for New Era Track Club was 5th in 100m (17-18) and was a member of New Era’s 4x100m relay team which finished 2nd.

Janie Oconner (Zachary Area) competed for Greater King David was 3rd in 100m (15-16)

Dylan Dunford (Lafayette Area) competed for Louisiana Elite Track Club was 2nd 2K steeple (15-16)
