PARKWAY'S GABE FALTING COMPETES AT THE '23 "HOSS" GARRETT RELAYS

Here are the finalists for MileSplit LA Boys Performer Of The Week. Congratulations to all of the finalists. The winner will advance to the ballot for MileSplit LA Boys Outdoor Athlete Of The Year. The poll will close on Saturday at 9pm.

CADEN WAFFER (WEST OUACHITA) - Finished as the runner-up in the boys discus at the District 2-5A Meet with a throw of 166-8. That throw was a personal record by over 22 feet. He goes into tomorrow's Region 1-5A Meet as the No. 2 seed. 

KYZER DUNBAR (ST. AUGUSTINE)- There were a ton of fast 800m races across the state last week, but nobody ran faster than Dunbar, who now leads the state in the event with a time of 1:54.36. Dunbar is the champion of District 9-5A. 

LUCAS OWENS (ARCA)- Holds Louisiana's top mark in the pole vault with a jump of 15-3 at the Snooks Relays in March. 

MILLER MALLEY (BENTON)- Malley broke the Benton school record in the pole vault on his way to winning the District 1-5A championship with a jump of 14-10. Malley goes into tomorrow's Region 1-5A Meet as the No. 1 seed by 10 inches. 

ZION SMITH (AIRLINE)- Smith helped Airline to capture a District 1-5A Championship last Thursday. Smith finished as the runner-up in both the 110m hurdles (14.78) and 300m hurdles (40.01). The only hurdler in the district better than Smith was his teammate Jeremiah Boudreaux, who won both events. Smith was also second in the triple jump (42-11). 

LIONEL PRUDHOMME (CAPTAIN SHREVE)- It took him a while to get going, but Prudhomme launched a throw of 165-0.5 in the finals of the boys discus at the District 1-5A Meet to upset defending Class 5A state champion, Devon Oliver from Parkway. Prudhomme moved from being ranked No. 50 in the state to No. 5. 

OMARI DUPAS (ACADIANA)- Dupas lived up to his nickname--"Speedy"--at the District 3-5A Meet. He won both the 100m (10.85) and 200m (22.21). He ran on Acadiana's winning 4x100 (42.03), which ranks No. 6 in Louisiana, and 4x200 (1:27.75), which ranks No. 8 in Louisiana. 

ROY MORRIS JR. (EVANGEL)- Jumped a state-leading mark of 24-4.75 at the District 1-4A Meet. Morris' effort ranks No. 15 in the nation. 

DYLAN CALLAHAN (IOTA)- Callahan is at the top of the rankings in the Class 3A hurdles. He leads the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.29. Callahan's 39.01 in the 300m hurdles is also No. 1 in 3A. 

JARMAINE MITCHELL (ST. JAMES)-  Mitchell is No. 1 in Class 3A in the shot put with a throw of 51-6.5. He is the district champion in 8-3A. 

GABE FALTING (PARKWAY)- Ran the second fastest 800m time in Parkway history in the fastest 800m race in District 1-5A Meet history. Both Falting and teammate Brennan Robin battled to the line at the 1-5A Meet with Falting coming out on top with a 1:56.03. Falting carries the No. 1 seed into Wednesday's Region 1-5A Meet in Natchitoches. 

RYDER BENTLEY (OUACHITA CHRISTIAN) - Scored 18 points to help the OCS boys win the Region 1-1A Meet on Monday. He won the shot put with a throw of 51-5. He was second in the discus with a throw 137-4. His throw in the shot put in four feet better than the next closest competitor in LHSAA Class 1A rankings. He ranks No. 3 in 1A in the discus.
