In the girls race, who else but Gabrielle Jennings brought home the title. With an 18:27 she took home the fastest time of the meet and won by almost three minutes. Her final state cross country race was a perfect cap of her xc career here in Louisiana. The team race was unusually tight as Simpson bested Claiborne Christian 42-46.
The boys race was much of the same with Alex Lewis taking down Randy Carter by over 45 seconds, though Carter had hung with Lewis for much of the first half the race. These two have been tussling for years and still have next year to go together, as both are Juniors. Hackberry took the 11 point victory over Holy Rosary in the team race.
