Tech Athletes Finish Pan-American Games



RIO -- Louisiana Tech fielded a number of current and former athletes in the 2007 Pan American Games this past week in Rio, Brazil.

Senior Latonia Wilson ran on the third-place finishing USA Team Saturday in the women’s 4x400 team with a time of 3 minutes, 27.84 seconds after running an eighth-place finish in the finals of the women’s 200-meter dash Friday with a time of 23.50.

Junior Nadia Alexander finished tenth in the women’s shot put finals representing Jamaica after throwing 51 feet, 10 inches, while former Tech All-American Ayanna Alexander finished seventh in the women’s triple jump with a mark of 43-4 representing Trinidad and Tobago.

Senior Jason Morgan also threw 166-4 in the men’s discus final Saturday afternoon for a tenth place finish.
