LAFAYETTE, La. --- ULM thrower Destiny Montemayor picked up her first collegiate win in the women's discus on Saturday at the Louisiana Classics. The sophomore from Watauga, Texas, won the event with a throw of 45.12 meters (148' 0").
Initial results showed the throw as a second-place mark, until officials noticed the discrepancy and adjusted the results to show the correct finish.
Montemayor also placed eighth in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.98 meters (154' 2").
ULM continues competition this week with split squads at the Alabama Relays in Tuscaloosa and the LSU Relays in Baton Rouge.
