Dear District 8-5A Coaches,
We are excited to host the District 8-5A Track and Field Championship at Hahnville High School and look forward to seeing all athletes showcase their best performances on the track and in the field. Our goal is to conduct a smooth, enjoyable meet for all involved, and we are here to assist with any questions, concerns, or suggestions you may have. Entry Details: The window for submitting entries on MileSplit for the District 8-5A meet is now open. All entries must be submitted by Monday, April 21st, 2025, at 7:00 PM. https://la.milesplit.com/
Implement Verification and Coaches' Meeting:
- Implement verification will take place on the visitor side of the stadium from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM the day of the meet.
- A coaches' scratch meeting will be held promptly at 12:00 PM in "The Rock."
Schedule:
- Field Events: Start at 1:00 PM
- Running Events: Start at 5:00 PM
Results will be posted online by Crescent City Timing. You can access live results at: Crescent City Timing. https://crescentcitytiming.
District Contact List: For your convenience, I have attached a district coach contact list with the contact information for all teams in our district.
Regional Meet Qualifying: Athletes who finish in the top 4 of any event will qualify for the regional meet. If your athlete or qualifying team will not participate or needs to scratch from the regional meet, please contact the 4th place finishing school as soon as possible. You must follow proper procedures as outlined by LHSAA and notify Hahnville High School, the host school for the regional meet, by 10:00 AM on April 28th, 2025.
Please send all notifications of changes to bbonnaffons@wearescpps.org and jthompson1@wearescpps.org to ensure everything is handled promptly and correctly.
Relay Team and Alternate Changes: After all 4 districts in our region have completed their district championship meets, you will have from Saturday, April 26th, 2025, to noon on April 28th, 2025, to make any changes to your relay teams and alternates on the MileSplit website for 5A Region III. Once this window closes, no further changes will be allowed for relay teams or alternates. All other qualifiers will be automatically transferred to the regional meet.
