Meet Information

Coach,
St. Josephs Academy invites you and your team to participate in the 31st annual St. Josephs Academy Cross Country Invitational Meet. The meet will be held on Saturday, October 5, at Highland Road Park in Baton Rouge.

Event Schedule:
08:00 a.m. Check In/Pick-up Packet
08:30 a.m. Junior High Girls 2 miles (limited to 20 entries, 5th thru 9th grade only)
09:00 a.m. Junior High Boys 2 miles (limited to 20 entries, 5th thru 9th grade only)
09:30 a.m. Varsity Girls 3 miles (limited to 10 entries)
10:00 a.m. Varsity Boys 3 miles (limited to 10 entries)
10:30 a.m. Junior Varsity Girls & Boys 2 or 3 miles (unlimited entries, 5th thru 12th grade only)
11:15 a.m. Presentation of Awards

Entry Requirements:
ALL schools must register their athletes in advance and online through Direct Athletics, www.directathletics.com. Registration by phone, fax, mail or email cannot be accepted. Race day registration will not be permitted.

Online registration will open at 8:00 a.m., Monday, September 2. Registration will close at 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2. Advance registration is required for the Junior High and High School Varsity races. Advance registration is not required for the Junior Varsity race. No entries will be accepted after the entry deadline. No changes can be made on the day of the Meet.

The Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys races are limited to a maximum of ten (10) entries each. The Junior High Girls and Junior High Boys races are limited to a maximum of twenty (20) entries each. Any additional runners may run in the Junior Varsity race as there are no entry limitations in only that race. A and B teams will not be permitted in any race.

All athletes competing in any event must meet LHSAA eligibility requirements. No ineligible high school athletes or unattached athletes will be allowed to compete in any race. Athletes will not be allowed to compete in more than one race.

Entry Fee:
An entry fee of $50.00 per school is required. Please make your check payable to St. Josephs Academy. Please mail your check to Coach Dorinda Beaumont, AD, St. Josephs Academy, 3015 Broussard Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.

Scoring:
All online entries will be taken from Direct Athletics and inputted into the Hy-Tek System to automatically score the Meet. All runners must pin his/her bib number to the front of his/her shirt. All finishers must walk through and exit the finishing chute for his/her stub to be collected and scanned in order to be scored. A team must have a minimum of five finishers in order to receive a team score. All runners in all races must wear school uniforms with the school name clearly shown.

Timing:
Official timing will cease approximately 25 minutes into the race in order to expedite the compilation of the results and begin the next race. The unofficial display clock will be reset at the end of the time allotted for the previous race, usually when runners for the next race are positioned on the starting line. Coaches are responsible for timing their runners in the Junior Varsity race and in any race when either the official timer or display clock has been reset.

Awards:
Trophies will be presented to the top two teams in the Junior High and Varsity races. Individual medals will be awarded to the top three runners in the Junior High and Varsity races. T-shirts will be awarded to the top 15 finishers in each race.

Meet Results:
Meet results will uploaded to Direct Athletics (www.directathletics.com) by the Monday following the meet. Results will also be made available to Louisiana Running (http://la.milespilt.com) and the Baton Rouge Advocate newspaper.
