LSU Junior Latavia Thomas (West Catholic), broke her own meet record in the 800 at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational this past weekend, qualifying for NCAA's. She also anchored her team provisional qualifier 4x400, splitting 52.66.

BATON ROUGE -- After winning a combined three indoor track and field national titles, Senior Richard Thompson and sophomore middle distance runner LaTavia Thomas were named LSU male and female Student-Athletes of the Week this week.

BATON ROUGE -- The action never stops for the LSU men’s and women’s track and field programs as they are sending three athletes to Fortaleza, Brazil, this weekend to compete at the 2007 Pan American Junior Championships beginning Friday.

NDIANAPOLIS -- LSU freshman LaTavia Thomas staked her claim as the premier young half-miler in the country as she captured the 800-meter title at the 2007 USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at the Michael A. Carroll Track Stadium

BATON ROUGE -- Freshmen standouts LaTavia Thomas and Katelyn Rodrigue lead a contingent of four LSU athletes who are set to compete at the 2007 USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships beginning Wednesday in Indianapolis.

Start Lists for this weekends NCAA Championships.  LSU, Louisiana Tech, Tulane, and McNeese have athletes schelduled to compete.

It\'s an all-time SE PA record for West Catholic senior Latavia Thomas. Karen Shump, Penncrest is throwing well. And Ryann Krais and Carrington Queen are tearing through the short (distance, not height) hurdles for this early in the season.

The 2005 Pennsylvania Foot Locker Finalists needed some workouts, and they also needed some qualifying times for the Indoor season. Lucky for them there were some meets with good competition the week between the regional and the finals. And several top performances from 2005 outdoor are back in action right where they left off... PA ahletes born 1987 or later who meet 2004 World Junior standards as of August 7, 2005, hoping to go to the 2006 World Junior Championships in Beijing, China.

West Catholic\'s Latavia Thomas advanced from the Prelims to the two-heat Semis with a 2nd place in her heat, going 2:10.17... then posted a 2:10.48 on Saturday, 6th in her heat, and 12th over all, missing by four spots in qualifying for the Finals.

PA made a great showing in the single meet USATF Youth Outdoor Champs as Latavia Thomas and Lavaughn Jones win individual titles. Trevon Rainford, Cheltenham, won the YM 1500 in 4:03.02 and the 5000 in 15:38.56.

Bonner didn\'t wait as long as the Boston Red Sox for their championship, but it wasn\'t an overnight thing, either. And in her final League championship meet, Nicole Leach not only won four individual events, she set the league record in each.

It was just another day at the office for the West Catholic girls. And taking care of business was also the order of the day for the Simon Gratz boys. Known for great competition, the Father Judge Relays serve as the final tune-up for teams looking to make a great showing in the following week\'s Penn Relays.
