HAMMOND – Despite limited participation Saturday, the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions claimed an event victory at the McNeese Cowboy Relays in Lake Charles, La.
Weather concerns forced the majority of the scheduled Southeastern athletes to skip the competition. Just six Lady Lions competed in a total of two events.
Jessica Fekete, a Holden native, won the women's hammer throw with a distance of 170-06.85. Three other Lady Lions placed in the event.
Renada Living (154-08.30) placed fourth, Shalicia Rochon (144-01.53) finished seventh and freshman Brianna Golden (123-08.65) recorded a 10th-place finish in the hammer.
In the women's javelin Southeastern had two athletes place. Jenna Baker, a sophomore from Mandeville, placed seventh (122-07.26) and Jordan Hartney finished eighth (121-09.42).
Southeastern returns to action Friday at the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette, La.
