TUSCALOOSA – McNeese State's Alex Bruce-Littlewood and Fionnuala Ross posted top 10 finishes during the Alabama Crimson Tide cross country meet Saturday.
Bruce-Littlewood finished sixth in the 8,039 meter men's race and Ross placed eighth in the women's 5,002 meter women's race.
As a team both the Cowboys and the Cowgirls finished 11th, the Cowboys scoring 187 points and the Cowgirls 263. Georgia Tech won the men's event with 83 points and Alabama took the women's with 88 points.
Bruce-Littlewood posted a 25:13.30 effort in his sixth place effort. Carrison Kemei of Alabama took the title with a 24:49.25 clocking.
Also for the Cowboys, Alex Kiptoo ran 16th with a 25:33.56 clocking while Lewi Manirumva finished 36th at 26:04.77.
Alex Evans finished 54th at 26:31.25, Drew Kogut was 91st at 27:44.99 and Brock Moreaux finished 129th at 29:24.26.
For the Cowgirls, Ross posted a 17:48.41 clocking to finish eighth. Tennessee's Brittany Sheffey was the champion with a 17:11.71 time.
Amy Talbot was the next Cowgirl to cross the finish line in 18:14.86 for 21st place and Corissa Storms was 72nd at 19:21.71.
Also for the Cowgirls, Lauren Cooper placed 85th at 19:33.45, Angelina Covington ran 19:51.73 for 102nd place, Allison Crawford was 125th with a 20:12.10 effort, Taylor DeLaRosa finished 129th at 20:15.71and Kaitlyn Jeter was 153rd at 21:04.80.
The meet concluded the regular season for the Cowboys and the Cowgirls who will compete in the Southland Conference championship meet the latter part of the month in Nacogdoches, TX.
