Cowboys run fast relays at Texas Relays

 McNeese State relays teams ran two of the fastest times in school history during the Texas Relays here Saturday.

Although the marks were not school records, the teams recorded the fastest clockings in several years in the 4x200 meter relay and the distance medley relay.

Both squads placed eighth in their races.

The team of Ryan ThomasonCharles Jackson, Darren Keyes and Torian Lindsey posted a 1:26.35 in the 4x200 for its eighth place.

And, the foursome of Jarrett LeBlancMichael WashingtonJoshua Sawe and David Rooney ran a 9:59.14 for eighth place in the distance medley.

In the only other event for a McNeese performer on Saturday, Meraiah Young finished 15th in the women's javelin with a throw of 118-6.

Next up for the Cowboys and the Cowgirls will be the Northwestern State Relays next Saturday in Natchitoches.
