SACRAMENTO- Ayanna Alexander capped her outstanding Louisiana Tech track and field career with a 10th place finish in the triple jump at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday night.

It was the highest finish of any Tech athlete at the NCAA Championships being held at the Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex.

The May 2005 graduate posted a season high leap of 42-6 ½ to come in 10th in the finals of the event.

Alexander finishes her Lady Techster with numerous honors including being the school record holder in both the indoor and outdoor triple jump while winning three straight WAC triple jump championships.

She earned an indoor all-American honor in 2004.

The Falls Church, Va. native was part of a senior class that helped lead the Lady Techsters from the bottom of the WAC to sweeping the indoor and outdoor conference titles this season.
