Rooney finishes sixth at regionals; qualifies for nationals

 McNeese State's David Rooney has qualified for the NCAA national cross country championship race by placing sixth in the South Central regionals.

He is the only McNeese runner that qualified for the finals which will be held November 22 in Terre Haute, IN.

Rooney earned his qualification last week in the regional's in Waco.  He posted a 30:23.5 clocking in the men's 10K race and he had a 4.54 mile pace during the race.

He was also named to the all-regional team.
