COACHES CONVERSATION: ASH's Coach Sedarrin Freeman

There was much to talk about Monday evening when MileSplit LA's Jerry Byrd visited with Alexandria Senior High head coach Sedarrin Freeman. The Trojans have the No. 1 shot put and discus thrower in the state of Louisiana in Carter Rivet. Rivet is also at the top of the rankings nationally for the sophomore class. Other Trojans mentioned in the interview include Ja'nya Gray, Noelle Williams, Amari Dupar. The ASH Lady Trojans 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams were mentioned. Both teams currently hold Louisiana No. 1 rankings.

"Jamaria Byrd is a huge part of what we are doing on the girls' side," Coach Freeman said. The sophomore has won two of three open 400m races this season and has a season best of 58.25. That time ranks No. 7 in Louisiana for sprinters in the Class of 2028.

There was even time to talk about some ASH alumni including Hunter Rivet, Jakyra Edwards, Lauren Roberts, Alexis Guillory, Reagan Monroe, and Jacobian Guillory.
