Angel Dooley Leads Green Wave at Iowa State Classic

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Senior Angel Dooley registered a personal record in the 400-meter dash at the Iowa State Classic on Saturday afternoon. Her time of 55.95 seconds places her sixth in school history in that event.

Sophomore Gloria Asumnu also posted a season-best time in the 400, running the event in 57.58 seconds. Freshman Rachel Bryan clocked a time of 10:32.80 in the 3,000-meter run, her best collegiate mark as well.

Senior Lissie Mo was the busiest Green Wave athlete at the event, competing in three events, the 60-meter dash, the 200-meter dash and the long jump. In the long jump, she cleared 19 feet, one-half inch; her second time breaking 19 feet.

Asumnu was also the top Wave finisher in the 200, posting a time of 24.91 seconds, while freshman Shanon Beelendorf had a high jump of five feet, three inches.

Tulane will have individuals in action this Friday at the LSU Twilight Invitational, the final warm-up prior to the Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Houston on Feb. 24-25.
