Cain Gomez has been able to improve his 400m time this year and is the most improved 400m runner in the state of Louisiana. Gomez has a season best thus far of 52.55. That is over five seconds better than his best time during the first three weeks of the 2025 season.
Gomez leads a handful of sprinters who have made a jump in 2026.
Kaplan's
Kodi Clement was the first sprinter in Louisiana this season to break 50 seconds in the event. He accomplished the feat where he came away with the win after his time of 49.90. That time is 2.03 better than his best 400m time during the first three weeks of the 2025 season.
Other notable improvements have been made by

Michael Oywmade (3.87),
St. Louis Catholic's
Greyson Snow (3.68), and
Ouachita Christian's
Silas Williams. All three sprinters have improved three seconds over their early season best time in 2025.
