Louisiana Tech's Men's 4x400m Relay Advances to Saturday's Finals at Texas Relays
April 3, 2010 AUSTIN, Texas - Louisiana Tech's men's 4x400m relay team set a season-best time of 3:11.47 and advanced to Saturday's finals as action continued at the prestigious 83rd Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays Friday. Both the men's 4x400m relay and sprint medley relay set season-best times in Friday's preliminary rounds. The 4x400m relay team ran 3:11.47 to finish fourth in the prelims, besting their previous top time this season by almost four seconds. The men's sprint medley relay team ran 3:20.85 and came less than two seconds from setting a school record as they finished seventh. Freshman Matt Wolfe finished seventh in the 1,500m with a time of 3:56.25 while senior Billy Ray Walker ran 14.43 in the 110m hurdles to place 19th. On the women's side, a pair of Lady Techsters set personal record times in the 100m hurdles as Tech finished 10-11-17. Redshirt senior Antoinette Cobb led the way with a time of 13.72 to finish 10th while junior Tiana Davis finished 11th with a personal record time of 13.75. Sophomore Jesseka Jones, a New Orleans native, ran a personal record time of 13.92 to finish 17th. Quatisha Williams, the 2010 WAC Indoor Champion in the triple jump, finished third with a mark of 40' 7" only half an inch from matching a personal-best performance. Chasidee Lewis-Baker ran a season-best time of 11.79 in the 100m dash to finish 20th while Quanisha Sales ran 11.92 to finish 25th. Both Lady Techsters were on the 4x100m relay team that missed Saturday's finals by one place after running 46.39 to finish 10th. The 4x400m relay team ran a season-best mark of 3:45.09 to finish 13th.
