You may not recognize their name now, but the girls at the top of these rankings are the top eighth graders in the state. This talented group of young runners is led by the
Willow School's
Emma Aldana-Huelga, who won her first state cross country championships with a time of 18:28.
Aldana-Huelga is the leader of this pack, and it's not close as her 18:28 is almost a full minute ahead of the next fastest runner in the Class of 2030--Academy of Sacred Heart-N.O.'s
Finley Buhler.
Academy of Sacred Heart--N.O. has four of the top four runners in the top 13 of the eighth-grade girls' rankings at state. Buhler is joined by
Caroline Varisco (No. 3; 19:28),
Anne Reynaud (No. 7; 20:36), and
Angelina Wilmore (No. 13; 22:11)
