Javelin event paces the Cowboys and Cowgirls at the UTA Bobby Lane track meet

 Arlington, TX - Fourth place finishes by Laura Kerr and Wiley Collins in the javelin event highlighted McNeese State's performance during the running of the Bobby Lane track and field classic here Saturday on the UT Arlington campus.

            Kerr went 134-5.3 to place fourth in the women's division while Collins had a best of 208-3.9 for fourth in the men's division.

            The only other McNeese athlete with a top 10 finish was Laney Doucett with a personal best 125-4.3 effort in the javelin for eighth place in the women's flight.

            The men's 4x100 meter relay team of Ryan Thomason, Torian Lindsay, Sam Bowers and Ronald Stine posted a 41.83 which was a season best and placed 11th.

            Also for the Cowboys, Lindsay went 49.05 for 13th place in the 400 meters, Napoleon Robicheaux ran 15.54 for 17th in the 110 high hurdles, Stine was 26th in the 100 at 11.04, Thomason was 34that 11.16, Chris Avery was 38th at 11.22 and Bowers 49th at 11.39.

            Mark Fallaize ran 2:04.34 for 36thplace in the 800 meters and Michael Washington finished 47th at 2:11.05.

            Other results for the Cowgirls hadPaige Lynch running 12.38 for 25th place in the 100, Ashleigh Wells going 1:01.61 for 30th in the 400 meters, D'Anna Lambert2:29.28 for 27th in the 800, Racheal Easton 2:32.62 for 31st place in the 800 andKara Slaydon 1:12.74 for 21st place in the 400 hurdles.

            A lot of the Cowboys and Cowgirls including most of the distance runners took the weekend off to prepare for the Florida Relays next week.
