BENTON'S CLAIRE ALLEN COMES THROUGH THE LINE AT SATUDRDAY'S BORDER DASH
It was a Bossier Parish sweep in Week No. 1 of MileSplit LA's Performer Of The Week polls. Parkway's Brennan Robin won the boys' poll while Benton senior Claire Allen won the girls's poll. Both will advance to compete for MileSplit LA Runner Of The Year at the end of the season.
Robin picked up his first win of his junior year last Saturday at Parkway's Border Dash. His time of 15:37 is currently the fastest time in Louisiana after the first two weeks of the season. Robin finished up as the runner-up in his season opener at McKinney Boyd's Stampede 5K. In that race, Robin ran a 15:32 and finished second to Alan Gallardo-Lopez (15:22) from Fayetteville High School.
Like Robin, Allen opened up her season at the McKinney Boyd Stampede as well. She finished No. 35 with a time of 20:30. She followed that up with a fifth place finish at the Border Dash, finishing with a time of 20:24.
