New Orleans - The duo of senior Olivia Kizzee and Kasey Rodgers advanced to the finals of the 60-meter dash where they finished third and fourth, respectively, and sophomore Jessica Gallagher posted a 16th-place finish in the 3,000-meter run to highlight the Green Wave's outing today at the LSU Twilight Invitational at the Carl Maddox Field House in Baton Rouge, La.
"We only took 15 of our student-athletes to this meet and for the most part it was for our athletes who haven't competed in the last two meets," Tulane head coach Eric Peterson said. "We wanted to give everyone another chance to compete so we can better evaluate the team as we head to the Conference USA Championships. We will meet as a staff and decide which student-athletes will travel to the championships next weekend.
"Olivia and Kasey turned in another amazing performance today. They are running at a consistent high level and are ready for a breakthrough performance. I think they will be ready for what will be an extremely competitive sprinters C-USA meet. I am very excited for them."
