Addilyn Dufrene, Antoine Taylor Win MileSplit Indoor AOTY!

Congratulations to John Curtis' Addilyn Dufrene and Albany's Antoine Taylor. They are the 2025 MileSplit LA Indoor Athlete Of The Year! Dufrene is junior high jumper coming off of her second-straight LHSAA state championship. Taylor is a senior half-miler. 

Dufrene won the MileSplit LA Girls' Indoor Athlete Of The Year award by capturing just over 41% of the vote. Taylor had just of 60% (6, 706 votes) in the MileSplit LA Boys' Indoor Athlete Of The Year poll. 

Mansfield four-time state champion Jaden Youngblood was the runner-up in the boys' poll with 3,636 votes. Barbe shot putter Jolie Jones was the runner-up in the girls' poll with 3,674 votes. 

Taylor, who is the defending LHSAA Class 3A outdoor state champion in the 800m, had a personal record of 1:58 at the 2025 LHSAA D2 State Indoor Championships. That time was good enough to earn Taylor a spot on the podium as he finished third in the event. 

Dufrene was near perfect during the 2025 indoor season, winning three out of four high jump competitions. The heptathlete also had personal records in the 60m (8.67), 60m hurdles (10.02), and shot put (28-11.25).
