ARCA'S LUCAS OWENS GOES UP AND OVER A BAR AT THE 2024 LSU HS CLASSIC
Below, you will find the five most improved La. HS boys in the pole vault. Benton senior Miller Malley's improvement since the 2024 indoor season has led him to two consecutive LHSAA state championships. The latest achievement came last Saturday at LSU's Carl Maddox Fieldhouse where Malley won the D1 boys' pole vault with a jump of 14-5.25.
Barbe's Carter Hooks finished on the podium with a third-place finish with his jump of 13-11.25. That is just shy of a three-foot improvement from his best during the 2024 season.
ARCA's  Lucas Owens was flying high a year ago as he cleared 14-4.75, but he didn't win the LHSAA Indoor State Championship. Owens added that accomplishment to his impressive resume on Saturday by winning the D2 boys' indoor title with a jump of 14-11.
Others making out list includeAscension Episcopal's Beau Domengeaux, who finished as the runner-up in the LHSAA D1 Indoor Championships with a jump of 13-11....
