Parkview Baptist senior Aiden Monistere said that his name "really hasn't gotten out there" after he finished as the runner-up at the Southern Showcase two weeks ago.
One thing is certain, if he continues to run like he did at Nike South in The Woodlands, Texas Saturday morning, it will not take long for Monistere to become a household name in the high school distance running community.
Monistere won the prestigious meet-loaded with talent from the Lone Star state-with a 5K time of 15:21. He beat Houston Stratford's Benjamin Pearce by seven seconds.
But, Monistere was the only Parkview Baptist Eagle to soar in Texas. Freshman Molly Cramer finished fifth and big sister Lucy Cramer finished sixth in the Elite Girls 5K race. Molly Cramer had a time of 18:09 while her sister came in three seconds behind her.
Other notable performances by Louisiana runners included Parkway sophomore Brennan Robin, who finished tenth in the Elite Boys 5K race with a time of 15:48.
